Thank you for protecting wildlife by avoiding any use of drones in Zion. More below.
Travel, food, lodging, activities, safety, and more.
Fire safety in Zion is taken seriously, please respect all laws to keep our wilderness safe.
Sort of! Dogs are NOT allowed in the National Park, the only trail that allows pets is the Pa’rus Trail, which begins at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
Pets are not permitted - on any other trails, wilderness areas, on shuttle buses, or in public buildings in Zion.
An animal friendly location is Best Friends Animal Sanctuary nearby. You can try services like Rover.com for a sitter or for boarding options but overall Zion is not a very animal friendly place to visit without extra planning. Weather gets extreme in summer and winter, so bring paw protection for walks on hot pavement.
WARNING: DO NOT EXPOSE ANIMALS TO THE WATER IN ZION. IT CAN BE DEADLY.
Zion National Park has been actively monitoring for the presence of harmful cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins in the Virgin River within the park. Cyanotoxins may be present at any time.
Keep dogs on a leash while in Zion NP and out of the water. Dogs are vulnerable to cyanotoxin exposure as it is difficult to control how they interact with potentially toxic algal mats. Check the Zion NPS website for current information about the Toxic Cyanobacteria Bloom.
NO. There are NO DRONES allowed in Zion You can be fined for sharing content with GPS data where you are restricted from flying. This ensures the protection of air space where endangered California Condors and many birds, insects and other life that must be respected. NO DRONE ZONE

Unfortunately at this time, no. But that can change if we keep frequenting the area and ask for our favorite "everythings" at all the local spots we love. Whether it's gift shops, cafes or campgrounds, the more veganism is valued as part of the local economy, the sooner we'll see products and services reflecting that. To find 100% vegan options whenever possible, we suggest Happy Cow's App.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary offers 100% vegan food and lodging and is animal friendly.
Springdale, at Zion's south park entrance, has all of your rental needs covered. E-bikes and bicycles, suits for traversing the river, and more. While Springdale has vegan options for grocery shopping , they will be pricey. Zion is isolated, urban areas are less pricey so buying grocery or camping necessities in St. George, Las Vegas, or even Hurricane/La Verkin, or Kanab is your best bet.
The simple answer is it depends where you are. In Springdale you should be fine but once you enter Zion Canyon limited coverage is possible ONLY in some areas like the Lodge, and that's depending on your provider.
For all intents and purposes, in Zion Nat'l Park there is SPOTTY OR NO SIGNAL for any cell phones. Bring an emergency locator beacon or similar device if you want to be in touch via satellite in case of emergency.
