If you visit Zion between April and November, you'll have to ride the free shuttle into the main canyon. This is to prevent over-crowding, air and noise pollution. Click below for the park's official info.
A great way to avoid weather extremes is to explore the exhibits at the park's Visitor Center. With the Jr Ranger Program for children, an eco-friendly water refill station and educational installations for kids of all ages.
So much to experience and so little time! Some trails in Zion require permits, so check the park's official website for most accurate information on dates and times. We'll be sharing our own trail guide soon. Stay tuned.

Trails range in difficulty, elevation changes and surface types. If you are looking for trails accessible by wheelchair, the park's site is comprehensive. There are only 2 trails that meet ADA standards, the Riverside Walk & the Pa'rus trail. Other areas in the park vary in accessibility.
There are several locations in Zion Canyon to rent bikes & e-bikes. We suggest bringing lots of water and practicing safety guidelines as the weather in Zion can exceed 100 degrees F in the summer.
If you don't want to take the shuttle, bikes are a great option for exploring. This is the only way to access the park's main canyon for the majority of the year. Most trails are off limits to bikes.
Best Friends is located 37 miles (about an hour's drive) from Zion. It's the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary with 100% vegan dining & lodging.
With two locations in Kanab, you can say hello to animals up close and even cuddle a kitten or two! Schedule your tour in advance, take more than one!
